You Be Me For A While And I'll Be You

Another blog about music? I'm sure you're thinking how exciting, how original, how uninteresting. That is if you're thinking at all, it would be amazing if you're even reading this thing but this isn't for you, this is for me, for us. It gives me something to do, a platform to talk crap about things probably only I care about. Perhaps it validates my existence to a certain degree, since I stopped writing a fanzine ten or whatever years ago have I really existed? Has anyone listened to anything I've said? if it's not written down and kept for prosperity did it even happen? Even if my point of view doesn't matter at least now it will be swimming around in the vast sinkhole that is the internet. At least it will exist. At least I can write an article of nonsense unrelated to a title I think sounded nice when I heard it in a song earlier in the day. That makes me happy.

So yeah, Tom sent round an e-mail a little while ago saying he wanted to start a blog or something because he'd been so inspired by a load of music in the last year or so and he wanted somewhere to write it down. So here we are. I say it's going to be a blog about music but I'm sure we won't stick to that, I'm sure Si will want to tell you about animals being unfairly killed and I'm sure Tom will want to tell you how amazing Aylesbury is. And I'm sure Luke will want to tell you about a new edition of On't Road. And I'm sure if we get anyone else to write for this thing they'll want to tell us (as let's face it we're the only ones who are going to read it) how much more interesting their lives are than ours and show us how much more articulate they are at writing it all down for us to read.

We listen to punk rock music in the main by the way, but we're not very punk. I think we have one tattoo between four of us (and that's from the guy with his own blog who probably won’t  write much for this site) few piercings and certainly no mohicans or studded leather jackets. We hardly ever even have beards either. One of us is a vegan though, and another two vegetarian. That must count for something right? Unfortunately I love meat and don't even feel that guilty about it so let the side down, I'm just not that punk, it doesn't keep me awake at night either (Though I do sometimes listen to Slapsticks 'Almost Punk Enough' before going to bed  and pretend it's directed at me to make me feel a little better about myself and tell myself that it's fine. It is fine isn't it? Isn't it!!? I sometimes listen to the song on repeat till I fall asleep but that has the unfortunate side effect of that when I wake up in the morning I believe for a moment that I'm a girl who a teenage Brendan Kelly fancies, which is an unfortunate side effect. Life is so confusing). I do like (some) punk music though and often get excited about gigs and bands and albums and that so this is a space for us to wax lyrical about the things we love which will more than likely turn into a space for us to grumble about the things we hate.

Enjoy. Or don't. Whatever.

Nobody Listens, Nothing Comes
